Red Rice

Developed as a cross between Venere Rice and kinds of rice of high quality.
The long grains show its characteristic reddish color.



Like Venere rice, it takes its characteristic color from the presence of antioxidants (anthocyanins) contained in the grain, which is elongated, crunchy and with the scent of freshly baked bread; the less intense coloring compared to Venere rice is due to a different type of anthocyanins and not to a lower concentration. This quality of rice, which requires a cooking time of about 35 minutes, is for your palate when seasoned with excellent EVO oil or with tomato sauce; definitely to try with a nice mixed salad, even if the quality of Ermes red rice is particularly suitable for the preparation of excellent and tasty side dishes or for appetizing seafood risotto.
